This brutal wipeout captured in the Sapphire Bowl at Whistler Blackcomb led to a broken foot and ankle, though apparently the guy still skied down the cat track from the crash sight.
This should act as a good reminder to avoid skiing gnarly stuff when the light is flat. If you’re planning on picking up speed and you can’t see what’s ahead of you, you should probably reconsider those plans. You never know when a mystery bump will take out your ankles.
Props to the skier on nailing the chute itself. That’s a pretty sweet looking run and would be very dope if it didn’t result in a violent wipeout…
