Haverhill, Massachusetts — Known as one of the closest ski areas to Boston, Ski Bradford has taught many how to ski or ride. The leader of their ski school is Mike ‘Big Mike’ Privitera, who has been the snow sports director there for over a decade. He’s beloved at Ski Bradford, helping lead a close-knit team that’s helped develop many new skiers and riders.
Mike was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was thirty and has been using PD at-home dialysis for the past three years. Due to this situation, he’s in need of a new kidney. They’ve searched locally for three years, but have yet to find a match. His life story was analyzed in a new short documentary by Alex Cole, which details the role he’s made into making Ski Bradford one of the best places to learn how to ski.
If you think you could be a match, or if you know of someone who could help out, you can email bigmikekidney@gmail.com. Those who are a potential match can fill out an anonymous form at www.mghlivingdonors.org.
