Park City, Utah It’s looking like the new Deer Valley will be a happening place in the years ahead. Along with the massive terrain expansion that’s currently underway, new buildings are being constructed around the Deer Valley East Village. The first of these, the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, opened last November. A new Four Seasons is planned for this area as well. Now, a third hotel is planned for Deer Valley, although this will be in a different location.

Yesterday, the Extell Development Company, which has been building up this East Village, announced that it will add a new hotel that’s part of the Hilton brand.

The Canopy by Hilton will feature 180 guestrooms and suites. Amenities will include a ski locker room, pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna, fitness center, and golf simulator. There will also be various dining and drink options, including a rooftop bar, signature destination restaurant, an apres lounge, and a grab & go coffee store. The design will be inspired by Park City’s silver mining roots along with the beginning of its growth as a ski destination in the 1960s.

“Deer Valley East Village has been a long-anticipated project that is sure to attract brands, retailers, visitors and residents from around the world, and the addition of Canopy to the Village further enhances our vision of bringing world-renowned brands and experiences to the resort,” said Gary Barnett, Founder and Chairman of Extell Development Company. “With a variety of residential ownership opportunities, exceptional hospitality, world-class amenities, and an array of retail, dining, and entertainment experiences, Deer Valley East Village—with the addition of this new hotel—will further cement its status as the crown jewel of Utah.”

A key distinction to note here is that it won’t be in the core Deer Valley East Village area, as it will be steps away from the Jordanelle Express Gondola. This will be situated in the Pioche Village area, which is home to the recently opened 402-unit Pioche Village Condominiums.

Deer Valley’s East Village is one of two base villages currently under development at the Utah ski resort. This will eventually feature hotels, condominiums, 250,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, a large ski beach, a recreation complex, and more. The Snow Park development, which will transform Deer Valley’s main base area, received a crucial approval last month.

The projected opening date for this hotel is the summer of 2026.
