When you think of half pipes, you probably think of a perfectly maintained park feature found in the X-Games, the Olympics, and plenty of other incredible competitions. You probably think of massive airs and wild flips and spins. You probably don’t think of something that naturally occurs in the woods at your local resort.

But “natural half pipes” aren’t all that uncommon if you know what to look for. Gullies that wind their way down the mountain can create a fun, half-pipe-like experience on plenty of mountains.

At Park City Resort, the longest natural half pipe is marked on the map. From the top of the Super Condor Quad on the Canyons side of the resort, skiers and snowboarders Canis Lupis in the Condor Woods, a long, winding natural half pipe that’s rated as a black diamond.
