Park City, Utah — The parking experience at Canyons Village will drastically change in the years ahead.
Yesterday, Vail Resorts announced that construction of a parking garage at Canyons Village is scheduled to begin on March 17th. The site of this garage will be where the current Cabriolet parking lot is. The Snyderville Basin Planning Commission approved the project last year.

With this new structure, it will help (hopefully) reduce traffic on the roads. This is through three entry points, one of which will be a drop-off point and two ports for drivers to directly reach parking spots. Guests will reach the Cabriolet by going down an escalator or by using different sets of stairs.

The garage will feature approximately the same number of spaces as the Cabriolet parking area (around 1840 spaces). Plans also include electric vehicle charging stations and an area outside the garage where people can hang out and wait for public transportation. The remaining parking spaces that aren’t going to be consumed by the garage will eventually be converted into commercial space.
With these changes, the experience at the Cabriolet parking lot will be drastically different. Construction will commence on March 17th. From there on, parking will be minimized in the Cabriolet parking area, with an expected space reduction of 50%. With the limited number of spaces available for the rest of this season, guests are being asked to consider using public transport to get to the Canyons Village. Carpoolers (four or more people) will be offered exclusive parking in Lot 4 (Upper Lot). From April 21st to December 2025, the parking lot will be closed entirely for construction.
According to TownLift, details have yet to be specified regarding whether there will be free or paid parking in the garage. The goal is to open the first phase of the parking garage (the first few levels of the structure) during the 2025-26 season, and the upper levels are scheduled to open during the 2026-27 season.
This change will coincide with the new Sunrise Gondola, which is scheduled to open at the Canyons Village during the 2025-26 season.
