Several ski areas across the Rocky Mountains have seen a solid past several days of snowfall, with over a foot of snowfall reaching multiple ski areas in both Colorado and Utah. As if that wasn’t enough, meteorologist Chris Tomer is forecasting a solid Friday into this weekend for many of the same areas.
In both Colorado and the Wasatch, Friday looks to be the most likely to bring heavy snowfall, with another storm brewing for next week. In the Tetons, today, March 6, and March 11 through 13 could bring heavy snowfall. Tahoe is looking at a potential for some heavier snowfall around March 12, while both the Pacific Northwest and Interior B.C. are likely to see heavy snowfall throughout the next seven days.
In terms of snow totals between today, March 6, and Monday, March 10, Whistler Blackcomb is forecasted to be the biggest winner with 30 inches of snowfall expected. Mount Baker is looking at two feet, while Alta is looking at 20 inches. In Colorado, the highest totals lean towards Steamboat, Snowmass, Silverton, and Wolf Creek with 10 inches expected, while other ski resorts throughout the state are looking at closer to 6-10 inches.
