Tenra Katsuno loses his helmet mid-run.

In gearing up for the 2025 Freeride World Tour Fieberbrunn Pro, the Freeride World Tour social media team took a look back at what was easily one of the wildest moments from last year’s event in Austria.

Japanese skier Tenra Katsuno loses his helmet on the first air of his run, somehow managing to launch it off his head mid-back flip. Despite the loss of gear, Katsuno continues to throw down a very solid run. He hits a clean 360, another backflip, a few more nice airs, and tumbles on a separate 360 attempt. Wild stuff.

Because he lost his helmet, Katsuno was not given a score for this run. While that does feel a bit sad, it makes plenty of sense. These athletes really shouldn’t be riding without a helmet on given the stuff that they’re doing.
