VP Vance & family ski vactiona at Sugarbush

Vice President of the United States JD Vance and his family are heading to Vermont to for a ski vacation at Sugarbush Resort. VP Vance will be joined by his wife Usha and their three children.

The Town of Warren Select Board which is responsible for the general supervision of the affairs of the town issued the following statement about the visit:

“The Town of Warren is proud to share with the Vance family a community that embraces diversity and inclusion, supports the arts, champions local farms and businesses, prioritizes environmental sustainability, and offers world-class recreational opportunities.”

Vermont State Police are working in coordination with federal, county and local law enforcement to prepare for the second family’s trip to the Green Mountain State and say folks should expect some delays and an increased law enforcement presence.

The only President known to have regularly gone skiing while in office was Gerald Ford who frequently skied at Vail, Colorado during his presidency.  When President Ford went skiing he was joined by a Secret Service detail that included agents specially chosen for their skiing abilities. At the time President Ford complained that newspapers chose to portray his skiing skills in a negative light despite being considered by many as the most athletic president to ever serve.

“Every picture that appeared of me in the newspaper was when I was on my fanny falling down.” -President Gerald Ford

No telling who will be skiing with VP Vance and his family but if you’re skiing Sugarbush and see someone with an earpiece sticking out under there beanie in the lift line there’s a good chance you’d be standing next to Secret Service.
