A cross country skier out for some morning exercise in Kelowna, British Columbia when stopped in her tracks after coming upon an adult female moose in the middle of the trail and engaged in a “Canadian Standoff” with the massive animal.
The skier wisely chose not to approach the moose and turned around to ski in the other direction. Cross country ski trail etiquette dictates skiers must stay in control at all times and be prepared to stop, slow, or change direction as needed. This could be to avoid other skiers, grooming equipment, or even the occasional moose.
