It hasn’t been much of an epic ski/snowboard season across the United States (at least not yet), but that doens’t mean every ski area has seen an entire season of low tide. In fact, eight ski resorts across the U.S. have already seen over 250 inches of snowfall, right around 20.8 feet.
If that’s not enough, two of those areas have seen over 28 feet, and one has seen over 37 feet. Of course snow melts, and those totals don’t necessarily reflect the amount of snow actually on the mountain, but it’s good to know that the snow is coming down at these resorts. Would you be surprised to learn that most of them are in the Pacific Northwest?
So without further ado, here are the eight U.S. ski areas with over 250 inches of snowfall so far this season:
8. Jay Peak Resort, Vermont – 253 inches
7. Stevens Pass Ski Resort, Washington – 255 inches
6. Mt. Hood Meadows, Oregon – 268 inches
5. Lookout Pass Ski Area, Idaho – 269 inches
4. Mt. Bachelor, Oregon – 269 inches
3. Timberline Lodge, Oregon – 298 inches
2. Mt. Baker Ski Area, Washington – 342 inches (as of February 3)
1. Alyeska Resort, Alaska – 451 inches
