After watching this short film about a bunch of college kids from Vermont who used a week off to school to explore the Chic-Choc Mountains in Québec, I’m convinced it is a bucket list location for any east coast skier.

Located in the central region of the Gaspé Peninsula, the Chic-Choc Mountains are part of the Notre Dame Mountains which are a subrange of the Appalachians. After about a 9 hour drive north of the Canadian border with Vermont, skiers and snowboarders are met with some pretty incredible terrain including rounded treeless peaks, open bowls, sprawling forests and reliable snow. Pair the ski experience with exploring the charming Québécois towns that dot the Highway-20 and Route-132 and you have a North American ski adventure like nowhere else.

Join this crew of intrepid Vermont crew who pointed their wagons north to chase big mountain lines and experience some of the best backcountry skiing east of the Rockies.
