It was a pretty solid weekend for several portions of the west, including a solid foot over the past 24 hours at Jackson Hole. But with that snowfall came a lot of warm air for the interior west (it’s around 70°F in Denver today). Fortunately temperatures look like they should be dropping over the next several days, and meteorologist Chris Tomer is forecasting some solid snowfall across the west throughout the next week.
In the Wasatch, Tomer is forecasting 12-20 inches between today (February 3) and February 9, though those numbers could be higher if the temperatures drop fast enough. Another 16-20 inches is possible in the Tetons, while up to 2 feet could be swinging through some Idaho mountains. Colorado’s central and northern mountains could see up to a foot, though that likely won’t come by until the end of the period.
The next week could be great for the East, with a few different storm systems bringing potentially 10-16 inches of accumulation to several New England ski areas. Even Massachusetts could see a few inches of snowfall at some areas.
