20-year-old Whistler native WeiTien Ho threw down what was easily the best run in the men’s ski category of the 2025 Freeride World Tour Val Thorens Pro earlier this week, featuring some incredibly unique and massive moves. Sadly, on what likely would have been one of the last tricks, if not the last trick, of the run, he wiped out hard, losing his skis and sending his score down to 15th place.
Truly an unbelievable run. Kicking off the run with a cliff drop, following that up almost immediately with a huge 360, a massive screamin’ seaman, and another enormous 360. Had he left it at that, it might have been near a podium run. But one final massive backflip wound up being his downfall, and the deep snow left him fighting uphill to get his skis.
WeiTien’s score put him in 15th place, putting him just behind Joan Aracil and just ahead Simon Perraudin. Fortunately there are plenty more days of competition for WeiTien Ho to show off his talents.
