Greetings from Charlie, a local legend at Vermont’s iconic Mad River Glen. Over the past 70 years Charlie has developed a unique approach to skiing the bumps under the single chair. It involves not skiing in the trough with a preference to go over top of moguls but in a horizontal directions resulting in a “swaying motion.” Charlie recommends you be prepared to use any technique to stay safe in the bumps and to take it in stride if your friends on the chairlift heckle you.

“I know theres about 30 people on the mountain that are better skiers and they all go faster but I like to do my little dance. That’s all I can do and I like to do it.”
