Choteau, Montana — While it was a rough start to 2024 for Teton Pass, the ski resort concluded the year in style.

Yesterday, Teton Pass Ski Resort (not to be confused with the mountain pass in Idaho-Wyoming that also had a rough year) opened for the 2024-25 season. This is notable because it was weeks earlier than its opening date for the 2023-24 season, which started on January 19th. However, it was only open for a handful of days last winter due to warm weather. On February 8th, the owner of Teton Pass announced it was closed for the season.

This season has gone much better. Snowfall in November and this month has provided the Montana ski resort with a more stable snowpack. The ski resort has received 14 inches of new snowfall over the past few days, with a settled base of 32″. White Pass will be open every day this week except for Thursday, January 2nd. It typically operates on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

This place is definitely on my bucket list. The remote access, varied terrain, and majestic backdrop make it a worthwhile destination for hardcore skiers and riders.
