It hasn’t been a disappointing start to the ski season for many of us across North America, but there are still plenty of ski resorts that would love to see some solid snowfall in early 2025. Fortunately meteorologist Chris Tomer has a promising snowfall forecast for many areas across the continent.
On the conservative side of the forecast, there isn’t much snow anticipated between today (December 31) and tomorrow (January 1), but between January 2 and January 8, snow lovers in the west could be pretty happy. Nothing massive is forecasted, but parts of the Pacific Northwest could see up to 20 inches, and some areas in Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana could see around a foot of new snowfall.
In Colorado, meanwhile, the January 2-8 snowfall forecast puts less than 10 inches in most areas, though Steamboat might see up to 11 inches. Lake Tahoe area skiers and Utah skiers probably won’t be too happy with the lack of snowfall expected around them, with just a couple of inches expected to touch down. But those numbers sit more on the conservative side of the forecast, so more is possible.
