Lake Louise, Alberta — This winter, the lift experience at SkiBig3 has become much warmer and more comfortable.

This season, Banff Sunshine Village and Lake Louise Ski Resort have each opened a new bubble chairlift. Last month, Banff Sunshine Village opened Super Angel LX, which is the ski resort’s second bubble chairlift. Last weekend, Lake Louise debuted its newest toy.

On Saturday, December 21st, Lake Louise opened the Pipestone Express chairlift. This Doppelmayr detachable high-speed six-pack bubble chairlift features heated seats, footrests, and blue bubble covers that protect guests from the elements. With an uphill capacity of 2000 people per hour, this will help reduce lift lines and crunch points across the ski resort. This bubble chairlift also helps make reaching the Summit and West Bowls easier than before.

The Pipestone Express is a speedy trip up the mountain. It travels at 5.08 meters (16.67 feet) a second, with a total ride time of 6.6 minutes to the top terminal. This chairlift services intermediate, advanced, and expert terrain.

Currently, Lake Louise has 113 trails and 12 lifts open. The upper mountain has received 216 cm (85 inches) so far this winter, while mid-mountain has gotten 180 cm (70.87 inches).
