The Swiss company E-Outdoor just debuted their flagship product and the ski mountaineering world is abuzz. E-Skimo is the world’s first electrical assisted E-ski mountaineering
device. It utilizes tank style treads positioned under each ski powered by “advanced sensors and a 6-axis inertial platform.” The motors engage intuitively providing the user with an uphill experience that reportedly uses 30% less muscle exertion. While part of the joy of ski mountaineering is the type 2 fun of gaining altitude, having a bit of extra energy when it comes time for the descent could be appealing to certain folks, especially weekend warrior types.
