Indy Pass billboard @ I-70 Colorado

All you Colorado drivers might notice a little ski-centric addition to signage along I-70 as Indy Pass just installed their very first billboard with the simple but profound message “Skiing Can Be Different.”

The billboard is located just outside Denver city limits on I-70 westbound strategically placed just before the climb into the mountains begins. Indy has had a recent push in Colorado with Loveland Ski Area and Hoedown Hill joining their already stacked lineup this year. That makes 7 participating resorts in Colorado and 230+ resorts worldwide.

Their message is clear, not all resorts in Colorado have been snapped up by corporate overlords and there are still plenty of options for folks looking for a more welcoming, relaxed and uncrowded ski experience. The new billboard will remain in place until March when Indy’s 25/26 season passes go on sale. Per the sign, people are encouraged to get on the Indy’s waitlist as they will get dibs on purchasing the pass first at a low price.

If you’re curious about the vibe Indy fosters with their partner resorts, we highly recommend watching this short documentary they made in collaboration with TGR about community-empowered ski and snowboard areas. Learn more HERE.

“Across North America, local communities are taking back their mountains, redefining the spirit of skiing and snowboarding at its core. Mountains Not for Profit, a short documentary by Teton Gravity Research in collaboration with the Indy Pass, dives into the stories of four non-profit ski areas that have flipped the script on corporate-driven snow culture. Shames Mountain (BC), Whaleback (NH), Black Mountain of Maine, and Antelope Butte (WY) are proof that passion, grit, and community can keep the soul of skiing alive. These mountains thrive on volunteer effort, donations, and the sheer joy of carving turns. This is grassroots skiing at its finest—where people and purpose drive the powder days.”
