Mount Bohemia includes Mont Edouard in season pass

Yes the the season pass that already gets you skiing all season long at Mount Bohemia and free days at 29 other ski resorts across the United states has now added unlimited skiing at Mont Edourd. Literally your $99 season pass now gets you two ski resorts for a fraction of the price of one normal East coast ski resort. Whether you go to Bohemia or Edourd your pass will pay for itself in just two days.

Located roughly 2.5 hours north of Quebec City, Mont Eduourd is an undiscovered gem in the Saguenay Fjord region in remote Quebec. The closest American cities are in upstate New York less than 7 hours away. The resort is l ocated in the French villageof L’Anse-Saint-Jean (population 1200) near some of the most dramatic Fjords of Quebec. Built in the 1990’s with two chairlifts Mont Edouard has some of the best in bounds backcountry in North America. It has a solid sustained vertical of over 1500 feet and gets 300 inches of snow a year. Just off of the St Lawrence river gives it consistent snowfall all year long. Boasting 450 acres of inbounds terrain and 200 acres of patrolled backcountry there is plenty of terrain to last for days of exploring.

Inbounds Terrain

The two main chairlifts get you to all the inbounds terrain. There is an excellent variety. Fast groomed runs with a consistent pitch wind around large rock outcroppings from top to bottom giving skiers and snowboarders some of the best terrain east of the Rockies. There is also plenty of ungroomed runs with steep headwalls and excellent bumps. One of the best attributes of Mont Edouard is how each run feels uniquely different from the previous one. While the 1500 vertical is not among the biggest in the East, the quality of the terrain is unmatched. There is no flat run out here, just drop after drop of of excellent sustained terrain.

Inbounds Glades

Mont Edouard cleans out its glades each year and it shows. Beautiful glades abound throughout the mountain and untracked powder can be found even days after a storm due to the lowest skier density per acre in Quebec.

200 Acres of Backcountry

The most special part of Mont Edouard is the backcountry. With its ample snowfall of 300 inches a year and four peaks accessible from the main chairlift, it is becoming the top spot for skiers looking to get into the backcountry with minimal effort. There are four peaks that bring skiers/ riders on a counter clockwise adventure through the beautiful backcountry glades of Quebec. Verticals ranging from around 800 vertical feet give the skier plenty of turns in the powder without too long of a climb up. The Mont Edourd ski patrol maintains a presence in this backcountry area giving it the largest patrolled backcountry on the east coast.

Apres Ski

Remember this is true French Quebec which means a lively European bar scene at the base of the mountain especially on weekends. Live music, dancing and just fun friendly skiers and riders hanging out in one of the most remote parts of Quebec. Later in the evening check out one of the few restaurants in the town where you can eat the most authentic French onion soup this side of France.

Hut System & Lodging

Mont Edourd maintains several backcountry huts that it rents out by the night for skiers looking for that special experience. For those looking for more traditional lodging there are many Airbnbs renting slopeside condos with full kitchens or stay in the latest slopeslide lodging recently built at the ski resort which are constructed from repurposed shipping containers.

This winter the $99 Mount Bohemia season pass offers you season long adventure not just at Bohemia but at Quebec’s most undiscovered and uncrowded ski area, Mont Edourd. All American skiers/riders who buy Bohemia’s season pass get unlimited visits this winter to a inbounds lift served backcountry playground in Quebec. BUY HERE.
