Word Cup ski racer Tommy Ford is both a top-of-the-line ski racer and a skilled artist. When he broke his femur in 2013, Ford turned his attention towards art school through recovery, working towards a major in studio art at Dartmouth.

Today he takes works to relate his skiing with his drawing, keeping one in mind while participating in the other. He combines the flow state of skiing with the flow state of drawing, and the creation of art with the creation of skiing. HEAD Ski filmed him discussing his two loves while enjoying some spring conditions at Mount Bahelor.

Discover the inspiring journey of World Cup ski racer Tommy Ford in Draw the Line. Filmed in Bend, Oregon, and at Mt. Bachelor, this feature reveals how skiing and art share a foundation of focus, resilience, and passion. From overcoming injuries to balancing racing and creativity, Tommy reflects on what drives him both on the slopes and in the studio. Watch as he carves his line—on the mountain and the canvas.

Ford earned himself a 21 place position at the Soelden World Cup Giant Slalom back in October. Ford should be racing at the Stifel Birds of Prey World Cup coming up this weekend.
