Snowbird Ski Resort kicked off their Thanksgiving opening day in a big way with the introduction of the brand new Wilbere Chairlift.

The new quad chairlift replaces the original double that opened way back in 1971. The chair was named after Wilma “Wilbere” Johnson who played a critical role in Snowbird’s creation. This morning her daughter Kylee and granddaughter Sienna were on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony. The new chair was realigned over the summer to load in Lower Gad Valley and services the same great terrain.

Snowbird is offering top-to-bottom Thanksgiving skiing and looks like there was nice turnout to see Wilber make her inaugural spin. Happy Thanksgiving!
