If you’re a Bogus Basin skier, there is plenty to look forward to this weekend as the Idaho ski resort kicks off its 82nd year of operations.

Bogus got a fresh 20 inches of snow to compliment the grand opening of the brand new quad Coach Chairlift. The folks at Bogus have also been hard at work in the offseason getting the new Bitterroot Chairlift ready for the 2024/2025 ski season but it will not be spinning this weekend. When they are both operations the four-person chairlifts will literally double uphill capacity.

If you plan to ski at Bogus this weekend you will get to ride the newly minted Coach Chairlift and will have access to Coach’s Corner Run, Stewart’s Bowl and The Explorer Terrain Park. Fun fact, almost all of Bogus Basin’s runs are named after Idaho mines.

Bogus is also opening up some new low-intermediate terrain:

“With the introduction of two brand-new chairlifts, we thought we’d introduce some new terrain! In past seasons, we’ve recognized a need for more low-intermediate terrain—those runs that bridge the gap between the easier greens and more challenging blues. Runs slightly more advanced than Coach’s Corner but more approachable than Bonanza off the Superior Express. These new runs are designed with low-intermediate snowboarders and skiers in mind, making them ideal for family-friendly adventures on the mountain!”
