The spines around Haines, Alaska, are some of the most legendary big lines in the world. If you watch a ski movie and they make it to Alaska, there’s a very good chance they’re skiing around Haines, and the 2015, 2016, and 2017 Freeride World Tours had stops in the area.
Markus Eder and Victor de Le Rue set out to the area this past winter, chasing some of the major historic lines that helped to give birth to the extreme freeride ski movies and tackling a never-before-skied mountain face. They shred, share good times, and go slightly mad while obsessing over the lines.
““Circle of Madness” a film by Christoph Thoresen, follows Markus Eder and Victor de Le Rue as they return to the legendary spine walls of Haines, Alaska, to explore unknown territory in sport—and friendship.“
