Idaho/Montana – Montana & Idaho’s ski season will kick off tomorrow.

On Tuesday night, Lookout Pass announced they’re opening up for skiing and riding this weekend. This is thanks to the new snow they received this week. Chair 1 will open on Friday, November 8th, from 9 am-3 pm. Lift tickets will cost $30 for Adults, Military Members. or College Students, & $25 for Youth/Seniors. Chairs #1, #2 & #5 will be spinning on Saturday and Sunday. Lift tickets will cost $47 for Adults, Military Members, and College Students & $35 for Youth and Seniors.

It was another busy offseason at Lookout Pass. Some of the offseason additions included 150 new parking spaces, building a deck to their new base lodge, adding bathrooms to the base of Chair 5, and an extensive mowing effort of their trails.

A new trail map has also been released. Before we show it off, getting there has been an interesting journey. Here’s what their trail map looked like before the 2022-23 season, which was when the Eagle Peak expansion made its lift-serviced debut.

Their first trail map with the Eagle Peak expansion showed an overhead view, which didn’t quite portray the slopes of the new terrain.

Next up was the first VistaMap rendering, which shows too much green for being a winter trail map.

For the 2024-25 season, Gary Milliken of VistaMap updated the map, and it looks great. It shows Eagle Peak’s ebbs and flows, along with the ski resort’s other curves. The map also shows a future Chair 5, which would add more lift capacity to Eagle Peak.

Lookout Pass is experiencing an exciting period of change, and it looks like the winter will be a great time to visit this gem.
