The Winter Park Express, a seasonal train that takes skiers and snowboarders from Union Station in the heart of Denver right to the slopes of the Winter Park Ski Resort, is expanding its services to cover 5 days a week starting on January 9. Plus, between December 20-29, the train will run three days a week on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The new service schedule will run from Thursday through Monday, providing access to both residents of the Denver area and those flying into Denver International Airport (DIA). Those landing at DIA can take the A-Line to Union Station in Downtown Denver before getting on the Winter Park Express into the mountains the following morning or that day, meaning out-of-state skiers and snowboarders won’t have to fuss with shuttles or rental cars.
Additionally, the Winter Park Express has significantly reduced pricing, with tickets ranging between $19-$39 for adults and starting at just $9.50 for kids. Tickets are booked through Amtrak, and can be purchased here.
The Winter Park Express departs form Denver Union Station at 7:00am on the mornings of operation, arriving at the base of Winter Park Resort by 9:11am. In the evening, the train departs from the resort at 4:35pm, returning to Denver by 7:05pm. An additional stop in Fraser-Winter Park is available beyond the resort as well.
