The snow stake at TAOS looks like it measured just under 11 inches of snow yesterday and they celebrated the occasion by sending up a drone for a flyover of Kachina Peak. Really appreciate the extra effort involved in producing this dynamic high definition footage with such a quick turnaround. Kudos to the media team!

TAOS has not yet announced an opening date but there’s plenty to look forward to this season. Here’s whats new at TAOS this winter:

  • Nearly $1 Million in upgraded snowmaking, grooming, and lift maintenance, as well as a new ski and snowboard rental fleet, to ensure the best on-mountain experiences for guests.
  • Last season, Taos offered more skiable acres at one time than ever before in the resort’s history. Over the summer and into this winter season the resort continues its commitment to progressive trail maintenance strategies to ensure it opens as much terrain as early in the season as possible.
  • Redesigned base-area restaurant Tenderfoot Katie’s and the Martini Tree bar will offer increased capacity, improved customer flow, and modernity.
  • The resort will expand its holiday offerings with a festive tree lighting added to the holiday market on December 7.
  • The Eis Haus ice skating rink will now offer evening ice skating for $25, which includes rentals.
  • Guests eager for more fun off the mountain can get some serves in on the new platform tennis court.
