Looking for a summer job like no other? Think you’ve got what it takes to face harsh and wild burns? Zion National Park and other parks across the west are currently looking to fill multiple seasonal fire positions for summer 2025, specifically seeking highly motivated and hard-working individuals for the wildland fire management team.

Wildland Firefighting in Colorado

“The application period for 2025 seasonal fire jobs is currently open! We are looking for highly motivated and hard-working individuals to join our wildland fire management team next summer. This announcement includes primary fire positions as a Type 2 and Type 1 Wildland Firefighter, and secondary fire positions as a Fire Effects Monitor within our Fire Ecology division.” – Zion National Park

According to the USAJOBS website, the National Park Service is specifically looking to fill spots in California, Utah, and Nevada for the Wildland Firefighter position, and Colorado and Texas for the Fire Effects Monitor position. On the wildland firefighting side, temporary employees are needed to work on Engine Crews and Wildland Fire Module Crews.

Most of these position require previous experience in firefighting, but some are closer to intro level. All applicants must be 18 at the time of appointment.
