Skateboarding high in the sky.
Skateboarding high in the sky.

Skateboarder and athlete Jay Alvarrez and pro skydiving camera flyer Sergey Ignatov worked together to create what might be the wildest skateboarding clip you’ll ever see. On a ramp suspended 10,000 feet in the air by a hot air balloon, Jay Alvarrez does a bit of boarding before he jumps off. At the same time, Ignatov is suspended in the air by what appears to be a rope, capturing a shot of the clip from the coolest angle.

Then they jump off together, with Alvarrez doing some wild grabs before they each deploy their parachutes. It’s insane. We’ve actually seen clips of this moment before, but never one that really captures the two working together the capture the clip.

The duo brought an imaginative idea to life by combining their passions for skate + skydiving with this half pipe in the sky. After 7 years of brainstorming about skateboarding beneath a hot air balloon, the two timed their skydive perfectly, freeflying above the Brazilian sunrise.
