Bedford, New Hampshire – Some animals never want summer to end.
Last Thursday, the Bedford Police Department was dispatched at 8:45 a.m. to a home where the residents needed help with a trapped animal. When the police arrived, they discovered that a moose was trapped under a pool cover. According to WMUR, it may have been stuck there since 4 a.m. They believe the moose probably thought the cover was still part of the ground and fell into the pool.
Crews then worked to remove the cover. After being freed, the moose appeared timid, probably overwhelmed by all the people around it. Within thirty seconds of the tarp being removed, the moose walked out of the pool and was off the property.
“I want to remind residents that moose can be very dangerous animals due to their size, and we appreciate that residents called us this morning to assist with this situation,” said Bedford Police Chief Daniel Douidi. “We’re pleased that no people or animals were harmed in this incident.”
