$5,5000 Porsche surfboard
$5,5000 Porsche surfboard

Porsche just dropped a new line of vintage surf inspired accessories and they don’t come cheap. Price tags include $155 sweatshirts, $35 keychains and a 9 foot 11 inch surfboard for a whooping $5,500.

Porsche collaborated with Almond Surfboards on new line of gear honoring the very first model 911 which were introduced in 1963, the year surfing was exploding in popularity in Southern California:

“Driving a classic Porsche 911 on the open road and riding a single fin surfboard on the ocean share a timeless appeal and unique fascination. They demand focus and reward patience. The collaboration between Porsche and Almond Surfboards celebrates the heritage of both crafts – with a touch of salty air.”

The chances of these boards ever touching water is slim. They will most likely stay high and dry destined to adorn polished roof racks to be admired at car shows like Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach. Not going front, they look pretty slick with the 1960s Porsche factory colors (Irish Green, Polo Red, Bahama Yellow) and racing liverie but the folks who buy them won’t want wax residue on their Sunday drivers.
