MARS HILL, North Carolina – The defunct ski resort once known as Wolf Ridge is expected to reopen for the 2024/25 winter season as Hatley Pointe Boutique Mountain Resort. The mountain was given a second opportunity after it was purchased by David & Deborah Hatley with an aim to renovate and rebuild, creating a year-round, one-of-a-kind boutique mountain resort experience in North Carolina.
The duo has been documenting the rebuild process through their social media pages, earning a healthy following on both TikTok and Instagram. Renovations have included adding 60 new automated snow guns from DemacLenko, reconstructing the lodge from the ground up, and much more. At the end, Deborah Hatley explains that they’re planning to provide four season amenities, mountain biking, chairlifts, potential for 300+ homes, 900+ water taps, and much more.
Hatley Pointe has 54 acres of skiable terrain over 15 trails and 700 feet of vertical drop. While the resort does seem to be aiming for a winter 2024/25 opening, no day passes, lift tickets, or season passes have been made available on their website.
“Hatley Pointe Boutique Mountain Resort strives to be much more than just a winter destination, but rather a place that our guests can enjoy year-round. From an elevated lodge and a full-service restaurant and bar to a specially curated retail space and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure, Hatley Pointe has something for everyone. We aim to put our guests first and to offer special touches that you won’t find anywhere else. At Hatley Pointe we are challenging the traditional way of thinking and creating a unique, exceptional experience for our guests.” – Hatley Pointe Boutique Mountain Resort
