Eileen Gu wins 15th World Cup halfpipe event

The first FIS World Cup of the 2024/25 season is in the books and it was a historic day for 21-year-old halfpipe skier Eileen Gu who set the new all time record for World Cup halfpipe wins with her 15th trip to the top of the podium at Cardrona Alpine Resort in New Zealand.

The record breaking victory happened at the very same halfpipe Eileen dropped into 5 years ago for her first World Cup halfpipe run.

“Today’s win was a special one. It was a dream to break the FIS freestyle Men’s and Women’s World Cup win record in the same pipe I dropped into 5 years ago for my very first halfpipe World Cup and huge congrats to Zhang Kexin and Rachael Karker for some great skiing in challenging conditions. Onto the next!!!” -Eileen Gu
