Monmouth Canyon in British Columbia, Canada is a popular destination for canyoneers who us a rope to rappel its multi-tier water pools but very few have the expertise and athleticism to brave it in a kayak.
Glacier melt feeds this winding complex of polished granite walls, tight tunnels and vertical slides and sending cold flowing water in a boat is a highly technical challenge. Tag along with kayaker Edward Muggridge as he passes through this natural portal for an otherworldly and unforgettable descent:
“I think this takes the cake as the most unique waterfall I have ever had the opportunity to paddle. This drop carves its path directly through a massive hole in the granite. This is the only known runnable drop on this insanely steep creek. Well worth the 2-3 hr hike all the way up there!” –Edward Muggridge
