Japan — A bucket list item for snow buffs is visiting Japan’s Tateyama Snow Corridor.
Situated on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Road, the 500-meter (.31 mile) stretch features snow walls of up to 65 feet. The road is open from April to November. However, if you want to see the walls, you’ll want to visit between mid-April and June. It remains open until the end of November, but you don’t quite get the mesmerizing experience compared to when the walls are massive. Due to the frequency of snowfall, the Corridor is closed from the start of December through the beginning of April.
This month, YouTuber Wonder World covered the Tateyama experience. The video shows how massive these walls are and what traveling to the Corridor is like.
