A significant portion of Colorado has seen some major snowfall over the past 24 hours, with the first snowflakes of the season falling in Denver into the morning. Most resorts around the state, open or closed, saw at least a little accumulation, but some mountains got much luckier than others.

The three open resorts in the state have each seen less than have a foot over in the past day, with Keystone recording six inches of accumulation and both Arapahoe Basin and Wolf Creek recording four inches. Both Arapahoe Basin and Keystone opened this past Saturday to the joy of many Front Range skiers, while Wolf Creek has been open since October.

Loveland Ski Area is still waiting for enough snow to open, but they are keeping track of snowfall through their website. In the last 24 hours, the independent Colorado mountain has recorded six inches of accumulation, like Keystone. Hopefully they’ll have an opening day set soon enough. Winter Park also does not have a set opening day, nor are they keeping track of their snow accumulation on their website, but their social media states that they saw 7 inches of snowfall through the last storm.

Both Breckenridge and Copper Mountain are set to open of Friday, November 8, but neither have begun keeping track of snowfall on their website. The good news is that both mountains have their snow stake cameras turned on. Copper’s snow stake (or Send-O-Meter, as they call it) tops out at 18 inches and was fully buried through the storm. Meanwhile Breckenridge’s snow stake appeared to be covered up to between 16-18 inches before being cleared this morning.
