In a one of kind sporting event featuring lightning fast runners/accomplished chuggers, The Beer Mile World Championships went down last week on the oval track at University of Windsor in Canada and it was incredible. The rules are simple, competitors drink a standard 12-ounce beer (5% minimum ABV) before every quarter mile, totaling four beers over the one-mile course, fastest time wins. It was a blow out with 7 second chugs and near 4-minute mile but the entire event is worth watching:
“Once a year, the most elite beer milers across the world gather to compete in the world’s premier drinking event. Celebrating its 10th year as the official beer mile world championship, the 2024 Beer Mile World Classic is set to break records – both in competition and viewership. For this 10th edition, we are bringing the action to Windsor, Ontario the hometown of Corey Bellemore, the reigning world champion and world record holder in the beer mile.”
