Norway, Michigan — A Michigan ski area will return to life next winter.
Last year, it was announced that a new ownership group had bought Norway Mountain and aimed to reopen it for the 2024-25 season. If it can reopen this upcoming winter, it’ll be the first time they’ve been open since the 2016-17 season.
While Norway Mountain fans were cautiously optimistic about the comeback, the Michigan ski area has been providing frequent updates to guests, showing off renovations to its lifts, lodge, and snowmaking equipment.
Due to coronal mass ejections, the Northern Lights were visible in many parts of the United States. On Sunday night, the Norway Mountain crew shared some stunning photos of the Northern Lights. These photos, taken around 11 p.m., show a diverse array of colors.
Norway Mountain wasn’t the only Michigan ski area to see the Northern Lights on Sunday evening. Ski Brule also shared some images of the Lights, with the sky showing shades of purple, red, green, and yellow.
We’ll keep you posted on the latest developments regarding Norway Mountain’s comeback.
