Candide Thovex natural arch overshoot.

TIGNES, France – Candide Thovex got up to some gnarly stuff this winter, from incredible double backflips to a showstopping arch session. But his worst moment of the winter was almost certainly this 173 foot overshoot while filming the incredible arch session. You know a crash is brutal when they just hit the ground and stop. No more skiing, no tumbling. You can feel the earth shake as he hits the ground. Whompf.

Fortunately he was able to ski away from the wipeout, seemingly unharmed. How that crash didn’t break a couple of bones (at least) is beyond me, but he managed just fine. And then he actually landed the arch jump. Multiple times. Because it’s Candide. Why wouldn’t he?
