Descending a narrow couloir, one ski at a time.

AUSTRIA – When a couloir is too tight to make a turn on skis, you can either walk down or point it straight. Anistenic on YouTube demonstrates a technique that isn’t quite skiing and it isn’t quite walking, pushing the tails of his skis into the deep snow as he slowly descends. So the question becomes, does this still count as skiing?

*works in deep snow (full tail in the snow – up to the heel), otherwise straightlining or crampons are the only two options

It certainly still counts as mountaineering. And adding to that, the run at the bottom, where he’s actually skiing, looks incredible. I think because he’s clipped into his skis, and because he’s descending towards a proper ski run, it still counts. Any thoughts are welcome.
