By 10:34am on Monday, July 8, the Vista Fire had grown to 115 acres with 275 personnel on the scene.

The fire is burning in steep rugged terrain, the fire was active overnight. 4 aircraft assigned, additional aircraft, equipment, crews, and overhead personal have been ordered. Today crews will be working to flank the fire constructing hand and dozer line, utilizing aircraft to put out hotspots and dropping fire retardant to slow the fires progression.

Hotshot crews and dozers cut lines around the fire perimeter, while aircraft slowed the progression of the burn.

Lytle Creek Road remains closed to the public, with access only to local residents. High temperatures continue to be a concern to firefighters as forecasts call for the same.
