The DJI Avinox E-Bike Drive System

DJI has been in the news a lot lately, with a possible ban on their products passing the United States House of Representatives late last month. But that hasn’t slowed their innovation and creation, and their focus has shifted to more industries. Earlier this week, the drone and camera company announced the Avinox Drive System, a new e-bike drive system for the new Amflow e-bike brand.

DJI’s legacy of passion for innovation, as well as our expertise in battery and motor technology accumulated in drones and camera stabilization systems, have led us to the creation of Avinox. It is a natural move for DJI to expand into this field as we have been mastering the technologies essential to an electric bike system, in terms of reliable motor development, battery management, mechanical design and engineering. This powerful and compact e-bike drive system embodies our pursuit of technological excellence and opens up exciting new possibilities for DJI as a leading tech brand in the outdoor realm. We are thrilled to come with a new proposition where we expect our expertise can bring enhanced experience to the users” – Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI.

The Avinox Drive System delivers a powerful 105 N·m of torque, all while weighing just 2.52 kg (~5.5 pounds). Plus, with DJI’s Smart-Assist Algorithm, the drive system will automatically adjust how much assistance it provides to the rider based on riding resistance. Four options, Auto, Eco, Trail, and Turbo, provide different riding experiences, and a Boost mode provides an extra surge of power if needed.

There are two battery options, 600Wh and 800Wh, allowing for a choice in range and (while still both pretty lightweight) weight. With GaN 3x fast charging, the 800Wh can go from 0% to 75% charged in just and hour and a half.

The Amflow PL is the first all-around electric mountain bike equipped with the DJI Avinox drive system. With 850 W of peak power in a 19.2kg body (42lbs), the Amflow PL offers a near unmatched combination of power, range and performance.

Sales for the Amflow bikes are yet to begin, but those hoping to pick one up can sign up for email updates here.
