Black bears battle it out in Colorado's front range.

COLORADO – Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) shared some pretty awesome footage of two young black bears battling it out on a trail cam. While the bears appear to be fighting, CPW points out that this is likely just some late-Spring play.

Bears generally avoid actually fighting each other unless absolutely necessary. Additionally, you’ll notice in this video that the black bears appear to be different colors. “Black” refers to this species of bear, not the color.

Black bears can be a whole host of colors, from cinnamon to blonde. So while the bears in the video may appear brownish, they are not brown bears. CPW reminds everyone who lives in bear territory to Be Bear Aware!
