Just to be crystal clear, this Wildlife Petting Chart issued by the National Parks Service is meant to joke and is meant to urge visitors to keep their distance and maintain 25 yards from bison at all times. With that said, the folks doing the socials at the NPS certainly have a sense of humor.
National parks offer a unique experience for watching wildlife. But with that privilege comes responsibility. Visitors are responsible for their own safety and for the safety of the animals, too. Simply put, keep your distance—no touching, no feeding, no harassing.
