Chile — South America has been getting dumped on during the past few weeks, resulting in ski resorts across the continent opening early. Now, the legendary South American ski resort Portillo is getting in on the action with an early pop.
Today, Ski Portillo announced that they’ll be opening up on June 1st for the season. Previously they planned on opening June 22nd, but the deep snowfall is allowing for the first couple of weekends (June 1-2, June 8 – 9, June 15-16). On June 20th, the Hotel Portillo will open for the season, and daily operations begin on June 22nd.

Portillo, CHILE (May 28, 2024)—With excellent early-season storms delivering nearly six feet of snow, Ski Portillo, Chile, announces that the 75th anniversary season will start early. The slopes will open on June 1 for weekend skiing (June 1-2, June 8 – 9, June 15-16), and the Hotel Portillo will open for guests on June 20.

Rates for Ski Portillo signature 7-day Ski Weeks begin at US$3,050 for a Valley View room (per person based on double occupancy), US$2,050 for the Octagon Lodge (based on quad occupancy), and US$1,550 for the hostel-style Inca Lodge. Other accommodations include Hotel Portillo Suites and the Chalets. Rates for ski weeks include accommodations, four meals daily (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner in the Hotel dining room – or the Cafeteria for Inca Lodge guests), lift tickets, and all the amenities of the resort.
