Skier loses her cool at Kirkwood snowball fight tradition.
Skier loses her cool at Kirkwood snowball fight tradition.

Kirkwood in California has one of the best end-of-season traditions out there. As the day reaches its end, skiers and snowboarders alike gather at the top of Chair 10, or “The Wall”, for a large snowball fight, targeting those actively getting off the lift.

It’s a good, fun tradition, and as long as nobody decides to sneak a rock or ball of ice into the mayhem, that’s all it is. You get to throw snowballs, you get snowballs thrown at you, it’s just like a winter recess in elementary school, a nice flashback to childhood. Unfortunately some people just have a hard time with fun.

This lady was apparently sour from the beginning, getting upset with Pranav Malavalli, the man behind the camera, after he threw a snowball at a snowboarder towards the bottom of the lift. She probably thought she was in the right to be mad and had absolutely no idea that Kirkwood had such a sweet tradition. Unfortunately for her a tradition is a tradition and she wasn’t going to escape this snowball fight, no matter how many times she yelled expletives or threatened to sue.

There are two kinds of people who don’t wear helmets, old heads who don’t care anymore and people who suck at skiing/snowboarding. It doesn’t matter how good you are, if you’re riding without a helmet, you aren’t cool, and she falls into that category. Facts are facts.
