HIGHMOUNT, New York – The ski season has almost completely come to an end in the Northeast, with just one ski resort still open in the region. For almost every other East Coast resort, eyes are on upgrades and summer operations, and New York’s Belleayre Mountain is no exception.
Throughout the summer, Belleayre is looking at work on two major upgrades. Work on phase two of Belleayre’s Discovery Lodge expansion has already begun, set to add 28,600 square feet to the building. That expansion includes a permanent rental center inside the building.
Additionally, the ski area’s snowmaking overhall will continue throughout the warmer months, bringing 30,000 feet of new piping onto the mountain. That upgrade includes a whole lot of new PoleCat Automated fan guns along the Dot Nebel trail, as well.
Most resorts these days are hosting plenty of summer activities once the weather warms up, and Belleayre is no exception. Belleayre Beach is scheduled to open up on June 15, providing all of the resort’s water-based activities. A few weeks later, on June 28, all of the land-based summer activities, including hiking, biking, and disk golf, will get going across the mountain.
Every Friday night from June 12 to August 31, Belleayre is hosting their Music on the Belle, bringing free live music, food trucks, and other activities to the Discovery lodge throughout the summer.
