Teton Village, Wyoming- Sublette laps are about to get a lot faster.

Today, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort announced that it will replace the old Sublette chairlift with a new high-speed detachable quad. This chairlift will climb 1600 vertical feet, move at 1000 feet per minute, and have a ride time of four minutes. Construction on the new chairlift will begin this summer, and it’s expected to open during the 2024-25 season.

It will replace the old Sublette chairlift, which was constructed in 1987. This fixed-grip quad chairlift had a ride time of eight minutes, which will be cut in half by its replacement. Earlier this month, the 1987 Sublette chairlift was listed for sale on Ski Area Management’s classifieds page.

This will be Jackson Hole’s second chairlift replacement in the past three years. During the 2022-23 season, they opened up the new Thunder chairlift, which increased capacity and drastically reduced the ride time.
