Mt. Hood, Oregon- Last night, a fire damaged one of the most historic ski hotels in the country.

At 9:30 p.m. last night, a fire occured at the Timberline Lodge. Guests were promptly evacuated, and no injuries or deaths were reported. The three-alarm fire was extinguished at 11:00 p.m. The damage is believed to be minimal, as the fire was contained to the roof and attic. An investigation is underway, but the cause is believed to be fireplace embers lit up the roof.

Timberline Lodge issued a statement, which is located below. The ski resort will be closed today (Friday, April 19th), and the hotel will be closed until further notice.

Update 5:45 p.m.: The ski area will reopen tomorrow, and the hotel could reopen on Sunday, April 21st.
