Greenwood, Maine — The future of uphill travel at Mt. Abram is at risk following a break-in of one of their lift shacks. On Thursday morning, Mt. Abram made an unfortunate announcement: the t-bar’s top lift shack was vandalized. The idiot vandal severely damaged the locked door and interior of the building. Because of this, Mt. Abram said that if this happens again, they may have to ban mountain access during the offseason. Mt. Abram closed for lift-serviced operations on March 17th.

There are numerous reasons why Mt. Abram is a special place and shouldn’t be messed with. First, lift tickets are affordable, as they will only cost $39 next season. Second, the ski area is one of Maine’s few remaining family-owned mountains. In the summertime, they have a varied mountain biking trail network, which is regarded as among the best in the region.

Hopefully, this is only a one-time thing, and vandals will leave this community gem alone.
